About us

What is the IFT and what do ift members do?

The Institute for Turnaround (IFT) is Europe's leading representative body for accredited turnaround and transformation professionals.

Membership is only achieved via a rigorous accreditation process.

It is an entirely independent body and a non-profit making company limited by guarantee.

IFT began life in 2000 as the Society of Turnaround Professionals (STP) following encouragement by UK Government, the major clearing banks and other financiers, private equity investors and leading accountancy firms.

IFT's mission is to become the de facto voice of transformation and turnaround, and the membership embodies IFT's three core objectives:

• Being representative and inclusive of the whole spectrum of excellence in our marketplace
• Professionalising turnaround and transformation
• Being generous with our time and expertise, to further turnaround that is socially useful.
