UK BUDGET DEFICIT IS PINT-SIZED

29 June 2010: It would take the country’s total population to drink 14 pints of beer each day for a year to swallow the country’s deficit, according to an Institute for Turnaround economic model. For the working population, it would be about 30 pints a day, in round terms £90 per person per day or £32,000 per annum. Alternatively, that makes 62,405 Olympic-size swimming pools full of beer.

BVCA NOMINATES THREE INSTITUTE FOR TURNAROUND® AWARD-WINNERS

The British Venture Capital Association (BVCA) has announced the shortlist for its 2010 awards. The awards include a category for ‘Turnaround House of the Year’. Three of those shortlisted, Endless, Kelso Place and Rutland Partners, are IFT award winners in Europe’s Top Turnarounds.

WILKINSON SWORD IS THIS YEAR’S TOP INTERNATIONAL TURNAROUND; NORTHERN ROCK’S RON SANDLER HONOURED

John Sergeant presented Europe’s Top Turnaround Awards at the Institute for Turnaround’s Strictly Turnaround Awards 2009 on December 3rd. It is the eighth year of the IFT Awards and some 60 submissions in 10 categories reached the final judging. The independent judging panel includes Professor Michael Jacobides, London Business School and Jane Calvert-Lee, representing the CBI, together with turnaround experts.

Institute for Turnaround: Qualified turnaround professionals needed to drive economic recovery

London, 10 September 2009 – The Institute for Turnaround (IFT), the UK’s professional body for turnaround practitioners, today announced its proposals to introduce a new policy framework for the IFT Turnaround Practising Certificate and Professional Licence in a move to make the role of the Turnaround Professional one that is formal, regulated and legally protected.
